yes drive it there if your stopped by the police they will simply just follow you there to ensure your telling the truth

As above as long as the MOT is prebooked and it's insured you can drive it there.

However if it fails you can drive it to a place of repair, but taking it home to do repairs is a bit of a grey area.

Also technicaly if it passes the MOT you should leave it at the garage and walk to a post office to buy your tax disc before you drive it on the road.

Your insurance is not valid if your MOT is expired (if your car is more than 3 years old). It is illegal to drive a vehicle with out road tax and insurance.

Yes.  You can drive to an MOT station without a valid tax disc, provided you have a pre-booked appointment (and drive back irrespective of whether it's passed or not).

Providing the mot is actually booked then it is OK to drive your car to and from the mot station.  But your should not drive it on the road again until you have taxed it.
