My dad told me to take it over to the auto parts store and have them test it. Says it might be a miss fire in #4 think they mean piston. On the road it basically starts to shake and it doesn't shift gears quick enough during excelleration. Is this something i can have a friend fix and what kinda of estimate do you think the labor and parts are valued at? The car is a Nissan Maxima 2001 v6. Could it also be the catalytic converter also?

  1. Primary suspect is the coils, there have been much trouble with maxima and the bad coils. They are not hard to change but are about $80 each X 6 = $480. You can just change the one in #4 cylinder, but you may continue to have problems as others fail!
