at first my car was overheating when i was stopping then going but it would do ok if i had it on the highway .Well we figured out that the radiator fan was not coming on so we replaced that, well it did ok for a day r so then it kept runing crappy and dieing if you didn't give it any gas so we put a new fuel filter on that helped with that problem but now the car is trying to overheat if i drive it just for about 30 min. and last night while i was driving it it die on me and i was still going i was not at a stop like before when i replaced the fuel filter. so now i don't know what is wrong with the dam car but i've put coolant and water and i dont see it leaking from any were so what do u think do you think it can be fixed are would it be cheaper to get a new car.

  1. did you have all the hoses replaced when the new radiator was put in?? what model is the car? how old is it??

  2. your head gasket or cracked head could cause this over heaten and runnin c**p by the sounds of things you dont now much so just take it to a mechanic or burn the car and start again

  3. Look, my friend, as you clearly know NOTHING about mechanical matters, go to a mechanic!!!!!!

You're just shooting in the dark. First you change a fan!??

Then you replace a fuel filter!??

I can't imagine why you would single out these items without performing any testing.

I might liken it to having put new tyres on because it was overheating or stopping. Total irrelevence to your problem, most probably.

    Find the real source!

Fans fail to work for more reasons than a faulty fan. Engines stop for MANY more reasons than a fuel filter.

And what does "trying to overheat" mean? Is there steam and noise?

  4. For starters, you don't want to drive it right now if it's overheating.

This is killing your motor and will lead to really BIG problems quickly.

I think it would be wise for you, at this point, to have a local reputable

repair shop diagnose the problem. Not go all out tune-up but just

diagnose the problem or problems you are having. Give you a price

estimate. Then let you decide. That's what I would do. If you are trying

to save money, have a friend with experience look at it for you. Replacing parts is only going to cost you more in the end. Driving

an overheating vehicle will kill it.

    Good Luck to you......

  5. same thing here but i got it fixed. check the gas tank probably. 2nd hand car would be cheap

  6. overheating..could simply be a bad thermostat..very cheap and easy fix.  Could also be your water pump.

Dying...could be bad spark plugs (cheap), bad plug wires, or fuel pump.
