I have a 2004 mustang, that is squealing, at first it was only for the first few minutes untill i started driving, it would go away. I bought some belt dressing, because an auto parts said the belt was fine. Now it is getting worse, almost all the time while I'am driving, It sounds like a pulley, but not sure, does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

  1. Could be the belts but could also be the brakes.  Take it to a mechanic and have it checked out.

  2. Could be the bearings in the pulley, but judging by the year, most likely not. I had an 87 Honda where the alternator belt would squeal. Check the tension on the belt. If its too loose or too tight, that could be ur problem.

  3. belt or belt tensioner but probably both and don't trust auto parts stores there not mechanics there just cashiers
