First off, i drive a 96 Honda accord V6. Its in good condition, but this problem has been bugging me:

My car has been losing power and at times turning off randomly when i am using more electricity(as in radio, AC and rolling windows all down at once) this only happens when i am stopped. When i slow down i feel the car almost shuddering(almost as if i had a pressure leak) and the lights will dim. the battery as alot of acid erosion around the positive and negative connections. I am curious if it is has to do with the acid on the battery, or if the battery needs to be replaced in general- also (i dont know if this has much to do with it) but the AC works well when the car is moving, but as soon as i am stopped the air is not as cool.

anyway, any thoughts would be very appreciated!

  1. my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop..,

  2. I'm not an expert, but have had many repairs done on my Honda Accord.

What your describing sounds like what happened when my Alternator went-- but it also sounds like when my boyfriend had eroded battery cables.

Unless you get some kicka** answers on here, I'd suggest bringing it to a local shop or the dealership before it leaves you stranded like it left me!
