My car radio has heavy static all of a sudden on all but one channel what could cause this?

This is probably from a damaged antenna or antenna wire (the one that runs from the antenna to the radio/cd player.  This is usually a simple repair.  You may also want to pull the radio/cd player and make sure that the antenna wire did not come loose.

You are probably getting the one channel because it is the only channel strong enough to be picked up without an antenna.
