Now I know what your thinking its bad tires but that is not the case at all. Since I bought new tires and that didn't help either. Here's the problem My car has shook ever since I first got it. Its a 93 toyota Corolla. it only had 48,000 miles on it. This car has had a small shake since it was new. It was my grandmothers car. It's never even been in an accident. but it seems that it's gotten worse. There was a point where I had one of the u joints replaced but that was when it had excessive vibration but that was a separate issue. So that's not it. I got the brakes checked along with the alignment and that's fine so what else could there be? Also how much am I looking at to get it repaired and where should I go?

  1. could be bad shocks

  2. Tires are improperly balanced.

  3. SHAKING UNDER SPEED CONDITIONS IS CAUSED BY BENT THINGS----DRIVE SHAFTS, ( DRIVE AXLES FOR YOUR CAR .FRONT WHEEL DRIVE ) WHEELS AND OR AXLES. SINCE YOU'VE REPLACED EVERYTHING ELSE, ITS TIME TO CHECK FOR BENT STUFF.

WITH THE CAR ON A RACK, SPIN EACH WHEEL IN THE AIR AND FOLLOW THE PATH OF ROLL.. IF ITS STRAIGHT, GO TO THE NEXT ONE AND SO ON TILL YOU'VE CHECKED THEM ALL. THEY COULD BE WIGGLING FROM SIDE TO SIDE OR UP AND DOWN. IF ITS BENT, YOU'LL SEE IT. ALSO CHECK FOR LOOSE REAR BUSHINGS IN THE CONTROL ARMS AND BAD STRUTS.

IF THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WHEELS OR THE TIRES, MOVE ON TO THE DRIVESHAFT. (FRONT AXLES)  THIS WILL TAKE A PERSON IN THE CAR TO RUN THE TRANS AND MOTOR WHILE IN THE AIR AND ONE UNDER THE CAR TO WATCH THE SHAFT OR "MIC" IT WITH A STABLE MARKER POINT.

IF YOU STILL SEE NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY, WATCH THE FRONT WHEELS ! IF THEY APPEAR TO WIGGLE FROM SIDE TO SIDE , YOU HAVE A BENT AXLE FLANGE. OR IN YOUR CAR A BENT DRIVE -STUB AXLE.  ALL OF WHICH CAN BE REPAIRED . AN AXLE AND LABOR FOR YOR CAR RUNS ABOUT 120.00- 150.00 AND JUST A BEARING IS NOT REPLACEABLE FOR YOUR CAR IN THE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY. THE WHOLE THING MUST BE CHANGED. ITS ALL IN THE PACKAGE---NEW C-V JOINTS AXLE AND COVERS.. THE ONLY OTHER THING I CAN THINK OF IS A BAD MOTOR  OR SIDE MOUNTING- STRUT ( A REMOTE SIDE -MOTOR MOUNT).. RARE FOR THIS MUCH SHAKING BUT POSSIBLE.  A GOOD PRIVATE MECHANIC CAN HELP YOU . ASK SOME FRIENDS WHERE THEY GO AND ARE TREATED RIGHT .. GOOD LUCK WITH IT..

  4. it cuold be bad shocks or maybe bad rotors

  5. Could be some thing as simple as mis-balanced wheels.

So down the tyre depot or shop and get the wheels balanced ON THE CAR not off the car.

    There is a difference.

  6. are you sure the wheels are balanced?

sometimes on older cars rims are not prefectly symmetrical due to some rime accidents( mostly running over curbs and stuff like that). so make sure to check it.

to me it sounds like its what is causing the vibration at high speeds because that's exactly what happens.
