My car tends to accelerate or spur when I step on the brake or in 'P".?

The RPM meter crank up as well.

However, it is lack of power when I drive in 'D", especially on slope.

What went wrong?

sounds like you may have a prior vacuum leak.. when you hit the breaks the vacuum assist for the power breaks allows more air into the air/fuel mixture causing it to become more lean rising the idle ... so i would start looking for loose, cracked, or disconnected hoses.. good luck
