My car was repossessed, arent the repo people sopposed to surrender my plates ? now my license is suspended?

to my understanding that is what they're supposed to do. Now that i have a suspension, can i appeal it due to the repossession of my car? this is new york state if it helps any....

You don't state the reason that your license was suspended, but yes, they should have (and you should have demanded) that your plates be returned to you.  And, in response to another answerer, your name does not automatically come off the title when a car is repossessed.  So theoretically, someone could be out there with your car with your plates and name attached to it, running red lights, etc. and you would get the tickets in the mail.  This is why when you get rid of a car you should ALWAYS take your plates off and have them destroyed!!

why do you need a license?  you have no car.  the suspension has nothing to do with your inability, unwillingness to pay for your debts.

when the paperwork goes through, your name will be off the title and registration.

you should get a notice shortly about the options you have.

Do not worry they will let you know what you  can and can not do. Use your time while your waiting to learn how to spell. You will not need your license any way because no one will sell you a car unless it is for cash now.
