My car was repossessed but my payments were current, is that legal?

I got behind on my payments a few months ago but caught up and they agreed to let me keep the car. Next thing you know, I wake up and the car is gone. I'm not late anymore so why did they take the car, and can I get it back with out paying it off?

  1. Are you behind on other things as well? When you have a car it is often used as collateral for other loans.

  2. Call an attorney......

I suggest suing for the value of the car when new plus legal fees.

If you can prove that ALL PAYMENTS were up to date, they do not have a right to repossess the car, even as it was said, thinking you were a risk.....

  3. All it takes to repo is for the financier to get scared.  If you have been behind they can legally take the car.

Doesn't mean you can't get it back.  Does mean someone is still going to have to pay the repo guy.

Talk to your banker.  I can promise you you won't stand a chance in court.

read the fine print on your contract.

  4. Once it,s gone it.s gone.

  5. I WOULD CALL THE SELLERS AND THE FIN COMPANY AND FIND OUT IF SOMEONE FORGOT TO TELL THE REPO GUY     YOU MAY FIND OUT LACK OF COM WITH THE 2 OF THEM  OR MAYBE THOUGH YOU TO BE A RISK  AND DECIDED TO PULL IT     JUST TAKE THE TIME TO CALL ALL  MAY BE A MISTAKE  BEST OF LUCK JFB
