I don't have ownership of the car so I can't give them the titles to the car. Do I have to pay to get my things out of the car?

  1. You should not have to pay to get your things out of the car, that's c**p. You may be able to call your local police to see if they can take you down there to get your belongings.

  2. and people think that  insurance are scammers.  No, towing yards cannot prevent you from removing your personal belongings  from the vehicle.  In fact, as an adjuster, I encourage people to go get their belongings before the insurance company moves it to their own salvage yard.  They may try to scare you but they can't enforce  this.

  3. your insurance company should pay all transportin/storage fees
