I have a 2006 Ford Mustang. Well i went to go to work and i started up my car, and it started pouring water out of the exhaust, so i took a look at the engine, and it was making a loud knock sound, so i got in the car and gave it a couple revs to see if the knocking would go away, but the knock just got louder, and the engine started pouring out smoke.

It made 1 last loud knock, and it sounded like a rattling tin can, it shut off and oil was pouring out of the bottom of the engine.

Im thinking it probbly needs oil, so im going to pick up oil today and put it in, which will probbly solve my problem. I just bought the car used 2 weeks ago for $17,000, so it cant be anything major.

do you guys have any ideas? i need help, which oil should i buy?

  1. I don't think that putting oil in is going to olve this problem.

Did you have a mechanic look at the car before you bought it?  I hope so!

I would have it looked at by a mechanic now! in some states there is a lemon law that protects you when buying a used car but I am not sure how long you have that protection or if this is even covered.

    good luck

  2. you that dum

  3. well i don't thing it needs oil i thing the transmision is not working.

  4. call the nearest garage service, they are hardcore pros for the win!

17,000 wow i want one now :D maybe because its d**n cheap there might of been some issues, but easily resolved by taking it to the nearest garage service and they will tweak the engine, maybe ur fuel intake or something was overloaded or ur car needs new components

  5. Uh it sounds like theres more wrong with it than simply needing oil, especially if you engine is leaking oil in the first place.

Get it to a mechanic, don't try to fix the problem if you don't know what's wrong with the car.

  6. Hey every one Joe is just pulling your leg to see if anyone would take him seriously---JoeR   did I win best answer?

  7. you might have spun a bearing. your car is broken so putting oil in it will just leak the oil back out. dont touch the motor or the ignition inless you know what you are doing. go to the place where you got the car and get your money back or get them to fix it cause this car is gonna need alot of work dude

  8. The push-rods may be bent or a valve may have bent. Crankshaft and or Camshaft bearings may be worn or falling out. There could be a lot of things wrong.

More oil wont help though if it already leaking.

That sucks though if it was used it may have been abused.

    Hope this helps

  9. Your last statement is a bit of a contradiction:

'I just bought the car used 2 weeks ago for $17,000, so it cant be anything major.'

You bought the car USED. The owner probably knew of the problems and that's why he sold it to you. He probably loaded the engine with sawdust or something. I hate to say it, but you probably got ripped off

  10. Have the car towed back to where you bought it. You have just experienced engine failure.

One of the reasons in being car smart is to avoid being ripped of or involved in a law suit to get your money back. You have a blown head gasket and since the engine oil is leaking , I would guess that you have additional damage. if you bought the car "as is", then you are screwed!

  11. sell it on ebay.

  12. wow.. i can just imagine someone about to leave for work and their car wont start.. so they come bak inside and go on yahoo answers and ask for help..

sorry i cant help i dont kno anything about cars im only 14.

    good luck thoo.

  13. hi joe! sounds like you blown a head gasket.sounds like anti-freeze is getting in your oil and making the rod bearings knock.

  15. It sounds like your car throw a rod which means you need a new motor. if oil was poring out of it there is a chance that you pierced your oil pan.
