  1. Check the connection on the battery are on tight.

  2. ignition fuse?

    maybe ....

  3. starter or the alternator

  4. Try putting some gas in it.

  5. first clean your terminal connextions with wire brush.

if it just clicks when jumper cables are applied it could be the starter needs some tlc.

  6. Its your starter. or alternator. you can go to your local car shop and pay them 20 to 25 bucks t check it out.

  7. One time my car wouldn't start in a parking lot. It was very sudden. I had a horrible cold. It did the same thing. Then the AAA guy came and hit the starter with a stick. It was loose and wasn't able to do it's job. I said "I could have hit it with a stick." He said "You should still get it fixed." The End.

  8. your engine

  9. starter maybe, pull it out and take it to autozone or someone like that, they can check it out.

  10. Your starter is bad if you hear it click and it wont start.  Easy repair to do if you can get to it without ripping parts out of the way.

  11. Probably the alternator

  12. check the starter and the spark plug

  13. alternator, just went through it.  It's not that bad to replace either, my husband did it and he doesn't work on cars much

    Have Fun

  14. Your starter motor is bad.

You need to take it to a mechanic and get a new one.

    EDIT:

It can't be the alternator, because the battery is good he said.

The alternator is only used to restore energy the battery uses, AFTER the car is started, that has nothing to do with it.

Its not the ignition or spark plugs in any way, because if the ignition had a problem, the starter would still turn.

The "click" tells me its a motor issue, because the click is the motor attempting to complete a cycle... and failing midway.

Hitting the motor itself with a hammer may solve the problem... temporarily, because it will jar the brushes loose and allow them to turn with ease again,

BUT remember the reason they failed in the first place was because they're worn out,

so you need a new motor, one way or another.

  15. Your connections to the battery are probably shortening out(no power).  Also your starter motor may need reconditioning, especially if you say the batterys good.  Finally take your battery to a garage to check to see if it is good!  Just in case it may have gotten flat sometimes it depends on the type of weather in your area.  They can go flat especially over extended periods if not used.

                                                                             Happy motoring.

  16. starter. give it a whack with a hammer to see if it will turn over

  17. could be your starter needs to be replaced. my friend's car was doing the same thing

  18. trade it in on a new honda

  19. Could you give us more detail?  A single click? Not even turning over at all?  check the altenator, then check the wires on your distributor.  I had that problem with my boat.

  20. get the oil changed

  21. did you try calibrating the transmission?

  22. Most Fords use an external solenoid mounted on the sidewall or firewall. It is an electrical  switch to send the battery voltage to the starter.

If you follow the large red lead from the battery, that wire is attached to it. This is what you hear clicking, and the switch contacts burn after so many starts.

They are fairly easy to replace and it costs about $40 at parts stores like autozone.

  23. Haveyou got a subwoofer and amplifier in the car, if oyu have its faulty wiring, take the fuse out of the sub to turnit off, then jumo start the car dont turn the sub back on! try it for a weekif your car doesnt act upagain its the sub

  24. Before you go replacing an starter check the battery connections at the starter and also at the battery just to make sure they are tight and in good condition (if they are loose or s**+tty looking they would take any starting current..) if that all ok I'd replace the starter quite easy job take about an hour plus parts and labour..

  25. i would try calling a car garage.

  26. sum cars after a day w/o use kinda do  that call AAA

  27. First test the battery that it holds the recomended load. Then test the cable ends with a test light,if the ends are dirty or corroded you wont have voltage or ground. Then test the relay on the starter side while someone cranks or turns the ign. switch to crank use the test light and probe the relay terminal that the starter cable bolts to, should have power when relay clicks. If no voltage relay is bad. If you have voltage check the cable at the starter end If it is tight and clean with voltage then the starter is the problem. Good luck

  28. maybe somethings jamming it and messing it up.  go see a mechanic and see if it helps.

  29. chek the engine
