Question:

My card was just declined at the till so I thought i'd have a look and see why so I tried to get a statement..

but it would not let me do that either. I treid calling the customer service help line but as I dont have a password for it they cant shed any light on the subject.

any one with an alliance and liecter account having a similar problem?

  1. probably the chip on your chip and pin card is faulty. You could try to clean the contacts but will probably need replacing.


  2. If you don't have Phone or internet banking then you may have to go into a branch.

    If your order on play has been declined then it's got nothing to do with your chip and pin!! as it's over the internet.

    There may have been several transaction going through at once and if you were ordering most of these online, then it's possible the bank has put a stop on the card.

    This has happened to me several times (Even though every month i pay ALL my bills online lol)

    I phoned my bank and it was sorted but as you can't check with the bank on the phone, the ATM or the internet , then there is nothing else to try but go into a branch.

  3. go to your atm, in the wall and see if u can get ur balance there or take out money

  4. it happens all the time cards get declined for no apparent reason chances are the bank will not know either. the card reader may have read the card wrong. or the bank may have asked for a confirmation and a lot of stores are not geared up to waste time verifying the card especially if the checkouts  are busy  personally I would not worry it is just one of them things that happen from time to time
