My carpet is very very dirty. Will I be able to clean it myself? ?

I have a balcony door and I often leave it open because my room get stuffy and I have no windows..the balcony collects a lot of dust and it all goes to my carpet..i have tried cleaning my carpet with my at home carpet cleaner but it takes forever and doesn't clean very well.

should i get a new one or rent one. I don't want to pay a lot of money to get my carpet cleaned. Should I ask my landlord to get me a new carpet? My new roommate got a new carpet and it does not get dirty..

he has a different type of carpet than I do. its softer and brown..my is hard and cream but now its dirty color..I NEED HELP

I saw a great carpet product on Home Shopping Network yesterday called Prof Amos cleaning. It worked amazingly on carpeting and was under $20

You could always try renting a steam cleaner for carpets from places such as walmart or other grocery stores. I used one a few years ago and i think they work well. Your carpet may never look perfect, but this would help.

~~It never hurts to ask you landlord for new carpet and explain your situation with the dirt problem. If he won't buy new, you can rent a steam cleaner from Home Depot for $25 for 24 hours. It's honestly easy to do just time consuming. It comes out just as well as if you paid professionals. It's heavy so if you are upstairs you may want help to carry it. The sell a cleaner for $10 a bottle that will clean your whole carpet I'm sure, it's concentrated and it's awesome cleaner. When you steam clean you get all the residue out of the carpet that may attract dirt and it leaves it soft, fresh, and clean. It's the only way we would do it anymore!~~

Yeah, the carpet you have now is probably old and permanently stained, what I would do is ask the landlord to replace it as it will last you a long time. All you need to do with the new carpet is clean it with your carpet cleaner every month to maintain it. Also try getting an air conditioner to rid of the stuffy air. Good Luck
