My cat is not even a year old and she started bleeding alot from her private. I'm scared for her she was in heat about a month and a half ago. So could it be possible she is having a miscarriage? Please someone help me understand what is happening.

  1. She's having her period - as she gets older she'll take care of it herself but kittens are always a bit sloppy.

  2. If you are not planning to breed from a cat the kindest thing you can do for it is have it spayed or neutered, but first of all get her to a Vets fast!  There are many reasons that could have caused her to bleed and your Vet is the only person who can be 100% sure why it is happening.  Once you and your Vet are sure she is fit and healthy, book an appointment to have her spayed!  Not only do spayed and neutered pets live longer, they tend to be happier and healthier too.  No cat who isn't a part of a breeding program should be left entire and any responsible cat breeder would agree with me!

  3. Cats do have a discharge when they are in heat but most of the time it is not very noticeable.  And you would know she is in heat by her other actions.   I would definitely call the vet and get her checked out right away.  ALWAYS better safe than sorry.   Best of luck and I hope she is ok.

  4. this is NOT her period...cats do NOT bleed during their "periods" this is PYOMETRA she needs a vet IMMEDIATELY!!! please get her to a vet NOW if not treated this is quite fatal and she may not make it past 24 hours!!! take her now!!!

  5. Cats tend to go in heat a lot.  She may have had her period the last time she was in heat, but you may not have noticed it because cats l**k themselves clean.

For my cats, I only notice the in heat part.  But they always do well to clean up after themselves.  I never see any blood.  But since she is young, she may be new at this... not quite sure of what to do.

    No worries.

and for the above. YES CATS HAVE THEIR PERIODS.  You just normally don't notice it.  Look it up.  It is normal.

  6. Cats do not get periods, blood from that area requires you to phone your vet and get the cat to them quickly.

Dogs do have a 'period' which involves blood to a certain degree, but cats definately do NOT. This is not normal for a cat.

  7. if when she was in heat she came into contact with a tom..then she could b having a miscarriage..

cats dont bleed when theyre in heat..she could have something wrong internally with her female organs and such..

only a vet can tell you for sure whats wrong with your cat so please go get her checked..

  8. well sometimes u bleed 4 no reason but it might of fell on the

corner of a table and scratched cuz 1ce i at my mom's office i banged my elbo on the table it was bleeding a little

  9. please get your cat to the vet.

  10. she is having her period, get kitty fixed!

  11. I own two cats and sometimes they have open wounds underneath the fur which you cannot normally locate. These wounds also tend to get infected so you def need to take your cat to the nearest vet.

  12. She need to go to the vet. Vaginal bleeding is VERY rare in cats and can indicate a serious clotting disorder or other problem. How about kitty gets fixed as well?
