Question:

My cat Domino is weird!?

He has been living with us for about a year, give or take 2 months, so he is pretty used to me and my family.

but he has these moments where he'll walk up to me or my sister or my mom and sit there staring at us and following us wherever we occasionally pouncing on our leg with a loud meow.

and if you stay in one place he'll sit there and meow at you still occasionally biting you. seem to be kinda defensive behavior

I thought it meant maybe he was hungry but no, then I thought he wanted to play but he just continues with the meowing and biting.

I don't know what to do!

What does it mean when he does this and how can I stop him if at all possible?

Thanks

  1. It's not weird at all. Domino is asking for attention. Pick him up and give him a good petting and a few scratches behind the ears. Start talking to him. This is all he wants.

Neutering will not make him depressed at all. It may calm him some but if you keep up the play with him, there should not be a problem. By neuturing, you will prevent him from getting testicular cancer which is becoming more common in male cats and this usually prevents the habit of spraying. Have fun with your furry little guy.

  2. He'll still be sweet and playful and fun.  He may calm down as far as agressive behavior goes, but he'll still be your kitty.  My two male cats (ages 2 and 9) have booth been neutered for years, still play and chase things and snuggle and purr.  He'll just have less pent-up aggression.

  3. He might be trying to tell you he wants to be petted, or maybe he just wants to talk to you and tell you about his day.

  4. Your cat is just playing but you might check with your vet about possible physical causes. To break him of this, try making a loud noise when he does this. Cats don't like loud noise. But be sure to get him some cat toys and play with him so he knows you're not mad at him--you just don't like when he does that.

  5. Your baby just wants some love and attention! just give him cuddles and talk to him n stuff :D

  6. That might be normal cat behavior, talk to the vet, or your local ASPCA about it, someone will walk you through the personality traits and maybe the steps to correct that behavior if it turns out he isn't supposed to be doing that.

  7. why don't u try spaying or neauturing ur cat?  cats will try to bite and approach  when they want sexual contacts. this means they are full grown and can have babies. neauturring is the best cure for this.
