Do you really believe they run away when they know they are dying. She was a indoor cat for 14 years, had only gotten out once and came back. We love her and miss her very much.

  1. im really sorry about your cat. i know what it feels like to lose an animal. and if i had to guess i wuld say that yes it knew. animals usually always know when they are going to die. my cat died 3 months ago and i knew that he knew he was going to because he ususally always hated the vet. he would meow the whole way and always ran behind the sink at the vet to hide. or he would hide behind me. but when i brought him to the vet to see what was wrong, he wasnt afraid at all. he was actually purring! i think that he was trying to tell me that he will be ok. it made me feel better that he wasnt scared when he died.  and i think your cat ran away cause he knew. that happens a lot with cats. just rememebr you gave ur cat a great life so he was lucky. most cats live on the streets with no one to love. your cat was one of the lucky ones that had a owner htat loved him. but im so sorry that thsi happened. and ik now you miss her but if u believe in heaven, you will see her again. you just have to be separated for a little while. someday you wil never have to separate agian. i hope you feel better soon. its hard to lose a freind like that.

  2. No. It's because since she was an indoor cat, she doesn't know about life in the outdoors.

I'm pretty sure you have heard this WAY TOO MANY TIMES but, "I really AM sorry for the loss of your cat." At least she's with God now and not suffering anymore. ^_^

  3. Im sorry about your cat i can't imagine what it feels like to lose a pet, i just bought a maltipoo around christmas and i freak out when she makes weird noises or doesnt eat. Its strange but ive heard sometimes animals can commit suicide i know it sounds crazy but they say when road kill happens most of the time its because the animal let it happen, but then again people drive like maniacs now days you never know. If it was an accident bless her, if the car didnt bother stopping they will get their karma so dont worry your cats in a better place :) feel better

  4. Not necessarily run away, but most cats if they're ill will hide. It's a protective instinct, so that bigger predators won't come after them.

As for your cat, she probably got out and became confused. Especially at her advanced age. You don't mention if she had any health issues or vision problems.

I'm very sorry for your loss. :{ It's never easy.

  5. Yes cats know when they're going to die.  But I don't think she ran outside because of it.  I think someone careless left the door open.

I feel for your loss; but again, if you have an animal, educate yourself first.  She could have lived for many more years, but no, this is not something they do when they know they're going to die.  They hide instead.

Since you're not elaborating to anything else, and since she'd lived this long so far, she might have lived much longer.

People; you're resonsible for these animals.  Educate yourself on cat ownership and keep them inside, no matter what the cost.  We've domesticated these animals for hundreds of years.

  6. Wow what was a 14 year old cat doing out on the road? Why didn't you keep her indoors.. this is so sad I cant bear to read things like this.. I'm sorry for your LOSS!

  7. only the cat would no

    sorry about the cat

  8. Ah I am sorry about your cat! I dont know if thats true but if you would like some comfort type in rainbow bridge on the internet, its a great poem for owners of passed on furry family members
