My cat appears to be very sick......

He has been laying in the same spot for several hours,we've moved him to the bed so he'll be more comfortable,he was laying in the bathroom on a towel. His eyes, the white part..it's like it's more,I don't know..over(?) than it usually is. His eyes seem vacant,he won't respond to any movement or sounds,he refuses to drink water. He was making weird wheezing sounds earlier though now he isn't. He acts as if he's in a very deep sleep,he moves his legs like he cannot get comfortable. There isn't (as hard as you may find this to believe) a veterinarian in our town, and it is 6:30AM,and we only have one vehicle, and as you might've probably guessed,my father has taken it to work. So we're pretty much out of luck here. I need to know what I can do to help him or where I can go to talk to a vet online or something. Can anyone PLEASE help me??

  1. omg :(       :O

    ok...

    uhm

you may not want to but pick it up

if its limp like wont move at all

im sorry but idont think it'll survive without a vet...

feel its stomach and make sure its not just pregnant

and make sure nobody hurt it!

  2. If you can't get him any actual emergency care (I would be known to even try any HUMAN doctors in the area) do the most basic things you can: look for any bites/scratches/abscesses on him, ensure that airways and such are clear and try to help him find a comfortable position.

If there's a chance that he hurt himself in any way internally, gently massage him with your hands to look for any sort of soft or sore spots.

It's also possible that Kitty has allergies. I know we had a tomcat a long time ago that had the WORST seasonal allergies, and would require medication for them.

If he doesn't have any obvious physical damage and can't/won't eat try soft things like baby food or tuna. If he continually won't drink try milk -- anything to make sure he's getting nutrition. If worse comes to worse there's always the option of bottle feeding.

I know how awful it is to not be able to actually DO anything, so I really hope it's something minor! Just do what you can to make him comfortable.

  3. Look for an emergency vet in your area.

It sounds like your cat needs immediate medical care.

  4. See if your vet will come out for a visit. He does sound quite ill. I think you can see the third eyelid coming over which isn't good really.

Call the nearest vet and explain the issue with transport. I work in a vets and we do visits a lot. You may have to pay a bit more than you would if you took him there. Its usually by the mile from the vets to your house.

If he isn't drinking he may be lethargic due to dehydration. He might need to do on fluids.

I hope you get it sorted. Try not to panic. Good luck.
