  1. You have probably heard that chocolate is deadly to cats, but the amount of chocolate in a semi-sweet chocolate chip is minimal.  It takes an amount of dark chocolate to do a cat in.

Your biggest problem may become that you wind up with a sneaky cat who will want to steal your food.  That is a major cause of problems, and a way for your cat to become too fat.  So you really want to try and discourage your cat from stealing food of yours.

I will never share any chocolate with my cats.  That's because I want it all for myself.  I also buy very dark chocolate, which would be bad for them.

  2. They shouldn't eat this as a regular diet obviously, but as a one of, he'll be fine. It may upset his tummy though! And with him moving his head about the way he did, yes, he was trying to get it to 'unstick' from his gums!!! :-)

  3. he'll be fine with such a small amount but take him to the vet if he reacts because he may be allergic

  4. He'll be fine. It's half of one chocolate chip. I've had pets take out Oreos from open cabinets and eat the entire package. That'll really teach you to close cabinet doors and watch what your pet eats!

  5. It won't do that much damage.  He'll be fine.  He only ate a small bit of it.  Just let him rest and make sure he doesn't do that again.

  6. He will be fine.  Cats are not suppost to eat chocolate, but the little critters seems to seek it out wherever it is.  He may have some diarrhea for two days, but otherwise he will be fine and just do your best to give him plenty of ice cold water.

    Heavenly blessings, Patti

  7. The cat will be fine if it was just that small of an amount.  It generally takes alot of dark chocolate to do any damage.

  8. how much does your cat weigh?

give her some hydrogen peroxide, and follow this scale

    5# and under 1/2 cc

    over 5# but under 10# 1cc

    over 10# 1 1/2 cc

this will cause her to vomit, and get the chocolate out of her system

  9. Well, Since It Was A Very Small Amount I'm Sure He'll Be Fine! He May Have Diarrhoea For A Day or 2, And May Vomit.

If It Gets Any Worse, Take Him To The Vet. If It Seems Very Bad, Take Him To The Emergency Vet!

I'm Sure He's Fine! Good Luck!
