Question:

My cat bit me - how to best treat it?

Today I was fortunate enough to come home from work for lunch and my 3 month old kitten was so happy to see me that he attacked me. He latched on to the flabby side of my upper arm, just above the elbow. Now, the bottom tooth hole is just a hole, but the top tooth puncture is bigger and there's about a dime-sized splotchy area around it, and possibly a knot underneath. It also hurts like a bruise. What is the best way to treat this injury? I have the feeling that it's one of the many my cat will inflict in his lifetime. Thanks.

  1. I thought my cat died and I put my hand on his side and shook him. Well he wasn't dead just sound asleep. When he awaken he bit my wrist so hard I had four holes two on each side of my wrist............To answer your question it hurt like h**l but it healed fine without and bandage or meds

  2. I have always just doused all of my cat injuries in hydrogen peroxide. After 20+ years of cat scratches and bites, I've not had a major infection.

  3. Clean it good with soap and water, apply an antibacterial cream, if it is swollen around the puncture, try holding an icepack on it for 10-15 minutes. The main thing is to keep it clean.

  4. Make sure it's teeth are okay.

  5. put antibacterial on it and wrap it up

but you might wanna go to the DR. just in case

  6. give it treats?

  7. go get anti-biotics, cuz the infection is deep into your arm.  You will eat them -couple a day- w/food.  Otherwise just sit back and watch it swell.
