It has stopped bleeding now but i am not sure does she need to go to hospital for any reason?

  1. If its just a small cut, no or are you asking this because you animals have not had their shots yet?

  2. Cats have v dirty mouths and sharp teeth are a great way to push the bacteria into a wound. If it starts to swell up then take her to a doctor straight away.

Check out this website for details of 'Cat Scratch Disease'. I think once you read it you'll probably rush off to A&E! It's caused by the intracellular bacterium which cats get from fleas.

However, washing the wound was the right thing to do. Keep an eye on the wound and on your daughter - if she gets a fever or lymph node swelling in a few days then take her to a doc.

  3. shell be fine.

  4. Cats mouths have a lot of bacteria so it is easy to have problems with a bite.  Washing it was a good thing; but you never mentioned if it had had it's vaccinations?

Also, grabbing a cat while playing is a very bad thing to do.  They often scratch when not really meaning to.  Plus a cat that bites is not necessarily a good thing; not one that draws blood anyway.

I would educate yourself more on cats so that you're more prepared when things like this occur.

  5. If its your cat you should be relatively certain it is a well animal and to be honest cats scratch/bite so often i'm sure she will be fine.  our kittens always bite my daughter when playing too rough and i've never taken her to the hospital.  only worry if your daughters wound looks infected in a few days otherwise don't worry and your daughter can mark it up to experience.

  6. As long as no swelling occurs, it will be fine. Make sure she keeps it clean and no infection should occur.

  7. What was she doing trying to grab the cat?  She needs to be a bit careful if she's an older child (obviously babies don't know any better) but I'm sure she'll be fine.  I'm always playing with my cats and get the odd scratch by mistake but only because they get over excited. Don't worry.

  8. As long as the wound is kept clean there shouldn't be any problems

  9. id the skin was penetrated you should seek help as a tetanus injection may be needed,by the way all you cat lovers before you jump down my throat what would have been your answer if the dog  was to blame?
