  1. I always use a stern voice with the words "NO" and "BAD". Then I walk away and leave him alone.  It takes repetition for the lessons to sink in.  I also found this helpful when I first got my cat:  http://pinurl.com/c27

  2. Get him fixed.  If he scratches you or bites you let him know it hurt and spray him with water.  I have a male cat and he was a little rough and crazy when he was young.  After he was neutered and got a little older (now 3) he mellowed out.

Cats do there own thing, but it is important to be consistent with discipline so they at least know what is wrong and right.

  3. Well, first off, getting him fixed would help.

If he ever attacks you, just pull your hand away and ignore him. Eventually, he will start rubbing up against your legs, and when you pet him, he won't attack you.

I have four cats, and this has always worked for me. They'll eventually learn that if they attack you, they won't get petted unless they be nice.

  4. Just flick him lightly you with your finger.  He has to learn a little respect.  Or use a spray bottle with water.

  5. Is your cat fixed?

In my experience I have noticed that when my male cats are of age they tend to play a little ruff. I had them fixed and they seem to calm down once there hormones are all out of there system.

He also just may play very ruff.

  6. You need to show that you are in control. I have a cat that

gets rough. When she gets to rough I just grab her by the

scruff of the neck and push her down and hold her down. I keep the length of my arm on the length of her body and use a stern voice and tell her NO. Her tail whips back and forth

and she even flattens her ears but I win and she knows it.

Just keep showing him you are in charge. He will soon learn

and you won't have to hit him.

  7. Kittens and young cats have to learn that human skin is more easily damaged and to restrain their teeth and claws. Was he properly socialised with people when she was young? If not, he doesn't really know how to behave around people.  Try not to make sudden movements (either before or when he bites) as that gets mistaken for an invitation to play with you.

In kittens and young cats, the usual cause is too much pent up energy needing an outlet. He needs energetic interactive play such as fishing-rod type toys that let you keep your body clear of teeth and claws while helping him burn off all that energy. Never let him rough play with your hands as that will become a habit.

Some people suggest a water squirt bottle as the answer, but it is far better to distract the cat by tossing a small toy or scrunched ball of paper (keep a supply of these in your pockets so you always have one to toss when she tries to play rough with you). He's a predators and needs to hunt, chase, climb and pounce and exercise his muscles, teeth and claws so you need to play with him with toys so he bites and scratches those instead of biting and scratching you. A scratching post he can climb should also help keep her occupied.

  8. you have to teach him it is inappropriate behavior, stop the play session as soon as it starts to get too rough.  he will learn....has he been neutered?  if not, he should have been a long time a go, so make the appointment this week.  that will help.

  9. umm cut your cats nails, that will diffidently decrease the pain when he scratches. about the biting simply put ur finger in his mouth and push up inside that will simply make him back away without it hurting him. good luck!

  10. Go slow because he might be a little surprised or something so make sure he sees you and just keep trying because he might just be trying to play too. Hope this helps.
