My cat also--kind of gross...likes to clean her "area" after using the litter box. I realized that when I play with her and she licks me, I could be getting her "down there" germs on me...how clean are cats really?

  1. Its normal, shes just keeping clean!:).

  2. You do not need to trim your cat's nails. If you do it wrong, the cat may get badly injured. Cats are pretty clean (too bad you can't brush their teeth!) and should be given baths at least once a month. This helps your cat's coat stay nice and healthy. Cats also have toxins in their mouth to help "renew" the bad germs. When he/she licks you, you may be getting a couple germs. Just wash off your hand with  antibactirial soap, though.

  3. No, She will trim her claws herself. Cats are very clean although I would not let her l**k my face.

  4. Its normal. it would be a good idea if you trim her nails

Please help me and my cat, its really important

  5. This is normal. If you don't want her l*****g you .. don't let her. Or, just simpily wash your hands.

  6. you Can trim your cats nails by making sure that you don't clean right up to the red spot or the veins in the nail, but it doesn't hurt to trim the nails.  A cat spends a lot of time cleaning themselves all the time and you want them to clean down there as well, its the only way they will get clean. Hopefully, everyone is right about how the mouth environment kills the other kinds of germs coz its so sweet when cats and dogs l**k.

  7. My cat does that too.. cats are just very clean animals.. or should I say vain?! LOL I know sometimes he bites old layers of nails off as they shed then I find them on the floor. As for cleaning his bottom after he's been in the litter box? He had better do that than get it on the furniture or worse, on me! I'd prefer him too! I thought I read somewhere that the germs in a cats mouth are healthy germs that kill bad ones.. or something like that.. LOL I wouldn't worry about it unless you have a sick cat!
