My cat doesn't cover up his p**p!!!!!?

well i got my cat neutered a couple days ago and i've been noticing that when ever he poops or pees now, he never covers it up!!! he was fine before and but after the surgery he's doesn't cover it anymore!!! what do i do??? it makes it smelly and flies get all over it!!! do i have to teach him again?? & he's 7 months old.

My cat did the same thing after he got neutered. he just needs to get used to it then he will start doing it again

Our clinic recommends using shredded newspapers in the litter box after a male cat is neutered due to the location of the incision area.  Litter can get stuck and cause irritation.  Unfortunately, your cat may have developed an aversion to clay litter if he was using it right after surgery - you may never know why.  The fact that he's still using the box is a blessing.  Daily scooping is the only solution that I can think of.

a reason that cats dont cover their p**p is when they feel thay are dominant in the house hold. you need to let him no where is stands in the house ranking

his legs may be sour from surgery. just give it some time. just spray some frebreeze.

Try changing the litter and maybe waiting until he heals totally.

either way you have to pick it up so pick it up before fly get on it. or just keep fly out of the house
