  1. kinda depends what the prob is - with no details you're not going to get any proper answers.....

is she ignoring you? what age is she? have you been treating her ok? have there been changes in the house at all? has she always been like this?

have you tried training her to do / stop doing things? rewards work with cats - never punish other than saying 'no' loudly and occasional squirt from waterpistol.

  2. get a new cat

  3. Hi Shy,

Often cats will appear to be more interested in visitors than their humans as cats are territorial by nature and need to scent mark visitors. You have already been scent-marked by your cat when she rubs against you with her chin, or her paws.

Cats are not like humans. They don't "use" people and walk away. They are curious creatures and have to check out new people and new things and mark them.

Some cats do not really enjoy being held. Cats frequently have limited "petting"attention spans and are happy with just a little bit of attention, and some cats thrive with lots of it. It all depends on their purrsonalities.

You sound a little upset with your kitty. She may be "reading" your upset and not quite understanding what you are feeling, but may be put off by your vibes.

Give her all the space she needs, pet her when she comes to you and be more unconditional with her.  Play with her on her terms. She will appreciate you a lot more.

  4. What are your expectations?  You have a cat, not a dog, and there is a big difference.  You need to be a bit more specific.  What do you mean by not treating you right?  Not getting on your lap?  Well, not all cats do that. Not coming when called?  Cats don't do that.

Scratching or biting you?  That is a training issue, easily fixed.

  5. Your cat is affectionate to visitors because THEY ARE NOT won over!

Believe me once that happens she would ignore them too.

Try this when she comes over to be petted... pick her up and put her on the floor.  ignore her.  (you know the turn your back thing works on them too. )

OR give her a treat ...pet her and then put her down.

WHEN YOU WANT TO PET HER... Play hard to get!

  6. if your cat is not being nice to you, try to just give it as much attention as you can. sometimes cats just are in a mood where they don't want to be around you. when this happens, give it some attention and if that doesn't work, try just letting it have its space. it may also depend on how long you have had your cat. if you just got it, it will need time to get used to a new person. next time your cat does something wrong, just tell it to stop. hope this helps! good luck!

  7. She has feelings...But interspecies..it's a taboo. She'll yell, slam the catflap, until she let's herself love you. Then she'll read you poetry, feed you chocolates and p**s on your leg. And you can be together, untill you find her l*****g the dog's nuts.
