Why doesn't my cat cover her p**p. She covers her pee but not her p**p. I heard it's a behaivor thing but is that true? How can she cover one but not the other?! It smells up the WHOLE house when she does and we end up covering it up for her or scooping it.

  1. I'm pretty sure it's just her personality. Some cats just don't do it. If you're not already, use clumping litter which will cover it for you, and try odor-eliminating litter as well. However, if your cat is a kitten, don't use clumping litter; it's dangerous to them.

  2. You just have a cat with a lot of spunk. My mother's cat is the same way, she does it one day and not the other. I would just clean up after the kitty and change her food if it smells too bad. Wet food will make to p**p smell worse. If you do decide to change the food do it graduately. Also when I clean the box for Penny, I put in baking soda (the cheap stuff from the dollar store) in the box it absorbs the smell. Good luck.

  3. Many people believe they bury their waste products because they are fastidious.  That isn't necessarily so.  In the wild, only secondary cats bury their waste to protect their trail from predators.  The dominant feline will actually display his or her f***s prominently.  This sends a strong message of dominance.  In the world of house cats, you are the dominant animal and the house cat chooses not to offend you. They will carefully bury their f***s to eliminate interfering with what they perceive as the natural order.

  4. Not all cats cover up their poo, my cats dont and as for the smell, use the cat crystals and every time she has a poo scoop it out.
