  1. It is normal for a slight increase in weight, but it is very unhealthy for a cat to gain a lot of weight. Gaining one pound as a cat is extremely unhealthy..whereas one pound sounds like nothing if a person gains it. It sounds as though it is time for you to cut back on your kittys food. I feed my cats 1/4 a cup of food twice a day.

  2. A slight bit of weight gain is normal but a "lot" of weight probably has nothing to do with being spayed.

What do you feed your cat?  Odds are it's a cheap dry food which is made mostly of corn.  These foods are loaded with carbohydrates and can quickly lead to an obese cat.  If you're feeding this kind of food switch to a healthier meat-based food preferably one with little or no grain.

Also don't "free feed" your cat.  If it's an adult cat feed it only twice a day.  Also be sure to include canned food in your cat's diet every - a dry food only diet is very bad for cats.

If you ARE feeding a healthy food and not leaving it out all the time then have a vet check out your cat.  Something medically may be wrong with it to account for the weight gain.

  3. Yes it is normal, coz now she's not getting chased by males.

As long as she doesn't gain too much she'll be fine.

  4. Normal....Some cats do & some cats don't.  I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets totally out of control.
