  1. leave her as long as she cant get out, otherwise she will leave them

  2. She won't hurt them but she seems to want to move them to a place she thinks is right. Let her settle them someplace and then put some towels and maybe a box where she decides she wants to be.

  3. Leave her alone! She knows what she's doing, and you're disturbing her by moving her around. Just stay out of her business until she's ready to come out, and get her spayed!!!!!!!

  4. she keeps moving them because she doesnt feel safe where she is ,basically she is just looking out for her young ones yr best bet is to take her into a room where it is warm with food litter box etc and shut the door and just check on her every couple of hours she will eventually settle down

is she a first time mum?if so they normally move their babies around till they feel comfortable also on day 4 she will move them again this is normal behaviour hope this helps u out and good luck

  5. It is okay if she is moving them around. Mother cats know how to move their kittens around with out hurting them. In the "wild" she would move them daily while she built a new nest or hunted. She is grabbing them by the scruff of their necks, just like she is suppose too. It looks more painful than it is, honestly!

Obviously she is Not happy with the nest you built. She probably wants a more open space to move around in.

You could get a few "wee-wee" pad and place it in a warm area of the house. Take the kittens and Mommy up stairs to the pads. Animals a very comfortable on these things, and it will protect your floor from accidents.

If you would like to "Shelter them in". You could take a few pillows and surround the new nest. Just like you would if you placed a human baby on the bed with you. This will give them a feeling of "comfort"

If she keeps bringing into the basement, it is okay. She is probably just  not comfortable around you humans.. for now. This sounds like it could be her first litter. It is totally normal to be a little insecure around humans the first time around.

When my cat Crystal gave birth for the first time, she moved those little kittens around everyday! She was bringing them upstairs and downstairs! She put them under the couch, and behind the fridge. We had a daily game of "find the kittens" in our house"! By week four, she had placed them in one spot.

Her next litter, she plopped down right in front of me and started shooting out kittens. I guess she finally learned we would not hurt them in any way.
