My cat had kittens..kittens were dead in sacs when i found them. did mom kill them? were they stillborn?

my cat had kittens, the kittens were dead in their sacs when I found them in the middle of the night. How do I know if they were dead before they came out of if mom killed them by not eating the sac off

  1. they mit of been alive but the mom did not open the sacks


  2. have u tried to break the sacks and resussitate them,(wrong spelling i know )they may of been stillborn to y the cat didnt break the sacks the mum knew something was wrong with them

  3. I think that they were stillborn.

    A mother cat would not just kill her kittens. She would most likely abandon them if something was wrong with them

If it was a first litter she was probably to inexperienced to know what to do.  Not all cats are cut out to be mothers.  You can't tell whether they were stillborn or suffocated in their sacs without a post mortem.  It would be safer for the female to have her checked over by the vet and have her spayed.

  5. They could have been still born or it could have been mom didn't get to them. But mom could have sensed that they were still born and just left them. But most animals still take care of the sack and try to revive them

  6. Was it her first litter? She might not have known that to do and failed to remove the sacs from them, which means they suffocated. Please spay your female so this doesn't happen again.
