My cat has a lot of blood in his stool, and the vets are closed due to labor day... what should i do?

go tomorrow, could be a number of things. The only one that is not bad is because of food change. I did extensive research when my cat had blood in his stool and found that a change of food can do it. If you haven't changed foods you need to see the vet tomorrow.

First of all relax...it could be simply an irritation problem.  Second like many others have suggested it is really important that you do get him to the Vet's office.  When you call your vet they will tell you an emergency number to call.  If not look up emergency vet in yahoo and I am sure you will find something.  Good luck and remember relax cat's get stressed too...if you are relaxed it will help him relax.

There are a lot of reasons your cat could have blood in its stool such as parasites, infection, trauma, constipation. Your vet needs background from you and an examination of your cat to determine why. Do you have any emergency clinics in your area? If not, if your cat is eating and drinking and seems happy enough then it can wait until tomorrow but if you feel that there is something wrong, call your vet or take it to an emergency clinic. (Yes, vet clinics are closed for the holiday but does yours not have an emergency number to call? Mine does) Good Luck!

Call your vet's office and you should hear a recorded message giving you the information for the emergency vet.  Contact the emergency vet and let them know that your cat is not well.

Isn't there a 24-hour emergency number?  If not, call your vetrinarian at his/her home or cell number.

I'm not a vet, so I wouldn't presume to tell you what might be wrong with your pet and either worry you more or make you think it's not that serious when it very well might be.  Anybody who does do that is irresponsible.
