ok, well my cat is kinda still a kitten, and she bites me all the time, and scratches me. I want to know if she will ever grow out of it, or will it become a habit for her. because my other cats never did this.

and she also gets on the table all the time I know that a mild mist on cats with water will help them not be bad but that doesn't work for this cat. i need some help.

  1. i tell her no or yell ouch!! she might back off some.

  2. Well, I sure hope she grows out of it.  My cousin just dumped her 'cute' cat on me, to look after when she's away... and boy is this cat nuts.  It's over a year old and is soo hyperactive.  Scratching, biting, running around non-stop.

With this cat I've been using much more than a mild mist of water.  I've also kept the dust buster around.  That really scares her when she jumps on the table.  It has seemed to have worked so far.

Good luck, she'll hopefully grow out of it.

  3. You have to let the kitten know it is hurting you.  You can say a sharp and loud "NO", or pick it up by the loose skin on the back of it's neck like it's mama does.  I have done a high kitten ouch sound that works too.  You need to make it understand it hurt you.  Baby kittens are usually practicing how to fight other cats, so you need to give it furry toys to take-out the fight on.

  4. If you scream ouch or that hurts it might back off. as for the table thing get a scat mat.  it is a mat that shocks the cat so it learns not to jump up. it doesn't hurt so don't worry about that.  also reward your cat with a treat for good behavior and praise it a lot. hopefully it will get better soon. good luck. hope everything goes purrfectly(yes i am aware that that was incredibly lame =P)

  5. In regards to your cat biting you and scratching you, to an extent she can grow out of it.  If she bites and scratches while playing she will grow out of it easily as it is just natural instinct to bite and scratch while playing.  If she attacks you at random, it could still be play but a bit more serious.  Either way, you need to affirm your dominance with the cat and train the cat when it is ok to be a little rougher and when it is definitely not ok.  You can help train her to be gentler by either scolding the cat in stern tones, and ignoring the bad behavior, and giving the cat extra attention and affection when she is being calm and gentle.

In regards to the cat on the table, if you want to continue using the water method, don't mist the cat- spray the cat.  Set the bottle to the most jet-like setting you can get and squirt kitty dead on.  Don't be vicious and cruel, typically one squirt is enough to get your point across, and kitty will run off to the corner to clean.  Another method I know is chili powder or something of the sort that is spicy.  Cat's don't like the smell or the taste and it'll only take a few jumps for kitty to realize that her table isn't so inviting anymore.  With the chili method make sure kitty has plenty of water available though in case she ends up l*****g her paws.

  6. my cat is kinda a kitten also. he plays with me and when he starts using his claws i say "claws" in a knida loud voice and he puts his claws in. when he bites i say "hey no biting"in a kinda loud voice and he stops biting. when he jumps on the table i say "naughty kitty no jumping on the table" and i gently push him off. maybe you should try that.

  7. thats simple.

your kitten is exhibiting completely normal behaviour and yes she will eventually grow out of it, it is just the playful nature of the animal.

you shouldn't scare the animal out of it because that can cause irrational behaviour and can lead to anxiety in the animal. the best solution is time and routine.

    hope i helped.

  8. Usually as a kitten they like to play more. The biting and scratching is a game for your kitten. Kittens have lots of energy! Your kitten will mature and the behavior shouldn't continue after the age of 1. However, some cats even after mature will continue to do this behavior. The table thing you can stop. Don't feed your cat food from the table. When your kitten matures it shouldn't go on the table.

  9. it is honestly not proven that cats hate water if you spray some dogs the freak to ..i think your best chance is to crate train your kitten any time she or he is on the table give it a time out in the crate but don't make the crate a bad thing also when you are pleased with the kitten give it treats in its crate put its food in there and also if possible its litter tray make it a home in your home to set boundaries so if the kitten is being bad take it to its home also at night it should be put in the crate so as not to wander around and cause trouble i did this with a litter of kittens and also a dog for 3 years and it didn't fail the cat's and dog used there crate as a get away when nervous and Also they got into the habit of knowing when bed time was cats are nocturnal for the most part so setting there bed time can be difficult , hope this helps
