Question:

My cat has a s*x toy...?

I have a life sized stuffed animal cat.

And on several occasions I've seen my cat...humping it.

This confuses me, because he is neutered. Plus I thought animals only had s*x for strictly reproduction reasons?

I'm definitely not mistaken on what he is doing either...

  1. Actually some animals have s*x for fun (dolphins) to reduce tribal tension (bonobos) and even homosexual relations.

It is actually not unusual for animals to continue such behavior, especially if they were neutered later in life. It is not uncommon for them to continue spraying if they have already started too.

  2. Animals have s*x only for pleasure. They have no intention of reproducing, it just happens.

Neutered animals still have this instinct, and they hump.

So let your cat enjoy his s*x toy! It is normal, don't worry.

  3. Sometimes animals will try to reproduce even if they are neutered and I know because my grandmothers dog humps my leg... yea sure you can laugh but hes a little ankle biter and... i don't even know but yea and my grandmothers dog is neutered and sometimes he trys to hump the cat but she swats him before he does it. Hope this works for you..

  4. Be happy he has the toy.  It is not unusual for fixed male cats to have a s*x toy.  The problem arises when he sprays all over the house.  There are hormone wall plug-ins at the pet store that are suppose to calm the cat down.  You could try that.

  5. Cats like playing with soft toy animals - specially the ones that have tails. They either bite them, paw them or chase these little stuffed toys around. It is best if these toys are as big or as small as the cats playing them.

  6. Well that is certainly interesting! He wants to be dominant maybe? He might just be masturbating though.. just because he's neutered doesn't mean he can't enjoy.... his hobby.

Let him enjoy it, I suppose. xD

  7. My Persian cat Persian goes Brokeback Mountain on my teddy bear at times.  He doesn't hump it but he definitely mounts it.  So don't be too worried.  It's a dominance thing - not sexual.  Maybe we can get two for one therapy for our confused kitties? :)

  8. Neutered animals still hump animals and  things to be dominate. Your cat sees that stuffed animal and just wants to show it that he's boss. I am sure that everything is fine.

  9. It is completely normal..They are just doing it to show dominance..I(t is not a big deal.My female dog is spayed and she still humps things..Just relax
