Like I said my cat has all these scabs all over her body. She has them under her chin, her neck, her back, and I'm pretty sure she probably has them some other places. I would really like to know what might be causing them.

Thanks

  1. well this could be allergies, ring worm, other insect issues...anything really.

either way it warrants a trip to the vet

  2. Vet. Now.

  3. Fleas, she has been bitten by a flea(s) and she is allergic, get rid of the fleas and give her some brewers yeast to help her skin and very gently brush her to remove the scabs, very gently.

  4. Is your cat allowed outdoors?  She might be getting into some pretty serious fights.

It's best to get her to a vet to be sure she's ok.

    Good luck!

  5. Fleas can come in through the window screens or be brought in on your shoes--being an indoor cat doesn't protect her against getting fleas.

Get a thin tined comb and comb her around the neck and shoulders. Look at the fur that comes off in the tines--if you see red or black dots that's flea p**p.  If you see a moving flea, well....  Also comb the hip area and where the tail attaches as a second check for fleas, these are common flea areas.

But really--scabs are NOT normal, you should have called the vet to arrange a checkup for your cat.  Waiting for things to change or go away only makes a situation worse, and that makes clearing up the problem all the harder.

  6. Does she have fleas? I've seen cats react this way due to flea allergies. Take her to the vet. If fleas are the problem, Advantage will kill the fleas safely and the vet may give a steroid to get the skin condition under control. If the problem is not fleas, it could be a food allergy or auto-immune disorder. Still, the vet will probably give a steroid to relieve the problem while trying changes in diet, etc. to find a permanent cure.

  7. my cat gets them too... she got them from scratching at them and also by her collar. i think some of them are from hitting her head on the coffee table. but i put triple antibiotic on it and she was fine after a couple of days!

  8. vet could be fleas

  9. They could easily be from fleas but they could also be from something serious like a skin desease so u should take her 2 the vet
