i''ve seen a nurse at the local vets and she said my cat had an ulcerated mouth, its all puffy and swollen and her nose looks like it has a little bump on it too. We've made an appointment to see a vet. I was wondering though, could this be anything serious, like cancer?

  1. make sure that your cat is not getting into toxic plants like giant hogweed or wild parsley, animals do not know to stay away and the two of them are edible and will cause the symptoms you are describing, similar to humans eating hot pepper sauces

  2. Hopefully not. Could be severe dental infection which has caused a large abscess, the mouth and nose are both connected so both will be affected, or possibly an allergic reaction. Only your vet can confirm what is wrong. I hope its nothing serious.

  3. The condition you describe could be many things.  Most likely it is an infection of some sort and can be taken care of.  Glad kitty is going to the vet and good luck!
