Question:

My cat has been Run-Over, and is in Shock?

I found my cat in the morning outside the front door, after calling for her, and searching the streets and back garden from 3am to 5am, I failed to find her. Her leg is broken, back left leg, flesh is protuding out and smells bad. I took her to the vet, just got back. What is the best treatment for cat's that are in shock? is it okay to apply Colloidal silver to the wound [to prevent/treat infection]?

Thanks

  1. Ring and ask the vet!

    I hope she's okay!!

  2. he/she may survive and sometimes he/she not.well, my mother cat has been run-over,but she survived.the next day,her kitten got run-over and she died.(her kitten was already a mother and my mother cat is mother too.)

  3. What did the vet say?  WHY DID YOU NOT ASK THE VET THESE THINGS?!?!?!?

call and ask the vet asap!!!!

  4. Hi there... if you are looking for  naturopathic  remedy for shock, consider Bach Flower Essences "Star of Bethlehem" which are safe and effective for pet animals:  See http://www.bachflower.com/Pets.htm

For bacterial infections, antibiotics is necessary to thwart off necrosis of healthy tissue (gangrene): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gangrene

Please consider contacting your veterinarian again for home care treatment.

  5. not sure about Colloidal silver. But cats are strange creatures. If its in good contact with you, then just spend a lot of time with it, pet it and treat it very well, eventually it will come back to itself.

  6. That cat may be in a lot of pain. It is better to put her asleep.

    Thanks.

  7. I hope the vet put your cat on antibiotics.

  8. If you took her to the vet, why didn't they keep her in and treat her? If you want the cat to survive, pay for the treatment.

  9. i'm sorry to hear about your kitty. that sounds devastating for both of you. i'd call the vet to find out more about what happens now. i'm sure they'll remember you and your kitty. they'll know what to do. didn't they fix the leg or wrap it up or something?  good luck to both of you.

  10. Your vet should have advised you on what after care is needed for your cat. Im very surprised that your cat has been sent home so soon after such major injuries!

  11. Get the cat warm with a hot water bottle, it will recover from the shock in a couple of days. And best to apply only what the vet advised.

  12. Poor kitty ;(

Just be sensitive to her for now. Stay with her, talk to her, pet her, and try to avoid any sudden movements and loud noises. And hopefully the vet gave you instructions to treat her wounds?
