Chessie has a huge belly, but had only one kitten three hours ago. Is it possible there was only one kitten in there given that fact that her belly is the size of a volleyball? In addition she seems fine now, she is breathing normal, no contraction or pushing and is sleeping while the kitten is feeding

  1. I would guess that there are more babies.  Keep an eye on her and call the vet just to ask.  And also explain to them that you may need to come in with her if she seems to be having problems.

  2. Cats normally only have 1 or 3 babies when they first become pregnant, but by the sound of it she may have more. My cat waited about an hour one time before having another kitten pop out after the first 1...so if something doesnt happen soon I would bundle her up and carefully take her to the vet. Geez, good luck.

  3. If her belly is still so big, I would take her to the vet. She may have more, they may be stillborn, but need to come out. Take her to make sure. If there are more inside and she can't get them out, it is life threatening for her.

  4. Chessie can wait up to 24 hours to have another kitten, sounds like there are alot more than one in there.

  5. I agree with the other people who replied.   Please consult with a vet.
