Her kitttens are about 2/1 week old, and one past away recently, and she ate it. She's been fine, but when I came back from going out to eat, I didn't see her and I thought she went outside for the bathroom, so I fell asleep, woke up, still no Nibbles. I look for her and she was behind the couch, where she wants to move two of her kittens but not the last one. She wouldn't get up, so I picked her up, she growled a little, but barely. I took her to the kittens and she sat there for a while. She sat there, now the kittens are feeding but she just meowed/growled a little, is she sick? What's wrong with her, she's now like whining/meowing and growling at them. I don't want her to die, or be sick. :[

  1. if the kittens are 2 weeks old, she may be weaning them. spending less time nursing them.

remove her from the kittens and pet her all over. if she growls when you touch certain areas, she is in pain, take her to a vet.

  2. I would take her to the vet ASAP.  My mom once told me that cats only hide for two reasons to give birth or to die.  Not to be mean but my cat had kittens and  was hiding under the couch and not eating and a couple of days later she passed away from flea anemia.  So to be on the safe side I would say bring Nibbles and the babies to a vet to be looked at.  Good Luck and I hope that Nibbles will be okay.

  3. after a cat gives birth you should always take it to the vet for a check up... some people don't cuz their cats seem fine, but yours is obviously NOT fine. your cat is probably stressed and possibly a very young cat which could make her a bad mother. if one of the kittens died there is even more reason to have the mother and remaining kittens checked over at the vet, they may have a disease (I'm thinking STD). If the mother cat is trying to move the kittens, that means you put the whelping box in a bad place. If you really want it were it is, try making it dark and adding a blanket over it. Anyways, please take the mother cat to the vet, she could have something very wrong going on inside.
