It sounds like your cat is quite ill. Cats try to hide any illness as a survival tactic, which is instinctual. Hiding under the bed or couch is a sign that something very serious is going on. When cats are not feeling well, or seriously ill, they will hide just the way you are describing.

It is dangerous for a cat to miss two days of food, as it can trigger liver problems. Additionally he is more than likely dehydrated and needs fluids. This is a serious situation.
