I noticed lately that my old cat, who is two has scab like sores on her neck and under her chin. I like brush her to think it's dirt and stuff and it does come off but then new ones appear. They're a light peachy color and when i scratch her neck, they come off and bleed. It's quite gross. Any answers? She did have fleas before is that what it might be? But now she has been clear for about a couple months.

  1. It could be feline acne

  2. A vet needs to look at it to really tell what it is.  If it is feline acne you can make sure the cat is eating out of glass or metal bowls.  I have read plastic dishes seem to carry germs that produce the feline acne.  Wish I had known this years ago when my cats were going through this.  Now I have glass and metal feed bowls.

  3. My cats are indoor cats as well and they still every so often get fleas, mites, Feline Acne(Basically dry skin), etc etc. If she had fleas, they may not be gone, eggs gestate every 10-20 days also with fleas comes mites, look into that or ringworm, it could be any parasite. Maybe take her to the vet to have the scabs tested and maybe a blood test done to see about internal parasites.

  4. Its possible that your cat got into a fight with another cat, but most likely she has some sort of infection or allergic reaction to a flea collor or something. I would take her to see a vet very soon, the vet will now!!

  5. Yes, plastic dishes will give them chin acne.
