  1. You really need to talk to your vet, they can look at your cat and check there's nothing wrong that could cause a problem. If she's just feeding them less or spending more time away from them, she may be in the very early stages of weaning them, make sure they have access to water and kitten food so that they can start to try and feed themselves.

If you feel that she is neglecting them and the kittens are suffering then you can help to supplement their feeds by syringe feeding them (obviously take the needle off!) using a substitute. We use lamlac it's a milk replacement for the lambs but we've found it works well for kittens and puppies. If you have a lactating goat to milk that's even better! Dont use cows milk, its undigestable for kittens and will do more harm than good. If in doubt your vet will be able to give you a milk replacement to use. Hope that helps, if i can do anything else email me =)

  2. cats usually start weening about 4 wks. get u some kitten chow, wet it with warm water, make kind of soupy until he or she can eat it where u dont have to wet it as much or at all

  3. feed them warn milk, eggs, & honey mixed together

  4. they are at about the age where you can start introducing kitten food to them but they should also still be getting milk from mom. If she is absolutely refusing to nurse them anymore then perhaps you should supplement with a kitten formula that you can buy at any petstore.

  5. She's trying to ween them, which means you are going to have to take over the job. Better start lining up new homes for them. Cat food costs $$$$$, as you already know.

  6. The mother is weaning her kittens. What you should do is buy some kitten food, preferable hard, and moisten it for them. Leave it down for them to eat. You could do canned food, but it's not that good for their teeth right now. They need a bit more chewing exercise.

  7. Well that's about the right time. Give them a bowl of milk and some wet food... start teaching them to eat regular kitten food. They will be okay. The cat knows better than we do when her kittens are ready to quit nursing.
