Normally I can answer alot of questions about cats but this is one I cant figure out. I have a Orange Domestic Tabby cat. And she has been devloping these sores on her head, and neck that kinda resembles the beginning stages of flea Larve. But she has no fleas. They are clumpy and hard. In certain spots they seem to itch her and some spots seem to hurt. And some of them she will allow me to pick off of her. Can anyone help?

  1. Get her to a vet.

  2. I agree a visit to the vet is best! My sister had a tabby cat that had those and the vet said it was allergies and gave her some meds for him! They didn't go away completely but the medicine helped alot! Good luck!

  3. she may just be alergic to something and she is getting sores.

  4. To be honest on this one I cant answer.

Your  really need to take your cat to the vet. Listen to no one because you dont want to leave it unattended and have the problem worsen.

  5. I have an orange tabby too.  He has a flea allergy and even one little flea wil make him get these sores.  The only way to tell what is wrong is to take your kitty to the vet and have them check her out.  You don't want her to suffer, do you?  Do you use Frontline Plus on your cat? If not, start giving it to her every month.  It sounds like she does have fleas and possibly an allergy.

  6. Your vet can help you and I think that a vet visit would be best.

    Good Luck!

  7. You are describing a condition called "miliary dermatitis."  This is often a sign of allergy.  Your cat may be allergic to something in the house like housedust mites or it could be allergic to something in the food.  Some cats with ear mites also have a skin reaction to these insects in the ears.  Ask your vet if your cat can have a shot of DepoMedrol to get the itching stopped.

  8. Sounds like your cat has an allergy to something. I would take her to the Vet, and see what he suggest you do.

You need to do something soon before an infections sets in.
