Question:

My cat her teeth are falling out..... Shes too old ?

My cat is nearly two YEARS old why are her teeth falling out? Shes a very sickly girl, she has epilepsy but shes had that since she was a baby, so I dont think it should be a conflict.... Shes just scaring me :l What wrong why is this happening?!?!

  1. At age 2, she has developed some type of dental disease.  She needs to see a vet to find out what's going on.  This should not be happening to a 2-year old cat.

You need to get a vet to check her out.  Losing teeth so young isn't normal and is probably quite painful for her.  There are all sorts of possibilities from idiopathic gingivitis (believed to be a genetic auto-immune type disease) to nutritional problems.  Another possibility is that some baby teeth didn't fall out and these are only now being forced out.

    The good news is that pet cats can manage fine without teeth.  You'll need to switch to a food she can eat, though some toothless cats will eat some biscuit food once the gums harden.  So even if the vet finds there's no way to save the teeth, she will be be okay.
