Question:

My cat is VERY ill! Help?

My cat was fine two days ago. Then, just last night, she seemed to come down with some very serious disease.

She just lays around the house, moving about 5 feet every hour or so, and is COMPLETELY limp. I've lifted her to move her somewhere more comfortable, and she didn't even react, she just hung in my arms.

Also, she refuses to eat (common for sick cats I think), and breathes very heavily.

When I came home from work today, I immediately looked for her, and found her curled up under the coffee table in the living room. She yells every now and then and there's -blood- at the corners of her mouth!

I would take her to the vet right now, but

1. I don't have the car

2. I'm afraid to even move her the way she is

Does anyone have any clue what's going on? I'm afraid she might die!

  1. Call the vet.  Sometimes they will come to you.  If you don't have a friend who can drive you, call a cab or even a local shelter. They may have someone who can come drive you.

I'm so very sorry.  The only way to tell what happened since none of us were there and we aren't vets, is to have her examined by the vet.  I wouldn't chance the other cat. Have him seen immediately to rule out any disease which may have caused this.  Bring the dead cat with you.  Again, I'm so sorry for your kitty. ♥

  2. Still call a vet's office, they can give you some advice on what might've caused the illness and if it's transferrable to the other cat...Condolences on your loss

We don't like seeing our beloved pets get sick, good luck w/the other kitty

  3. I am so sorry for your loss.   Take your remaining cat, as well as the deceased, to the veterinarian, ASAP.  That is the only way to be sure if your remaining companion is out of danger's way.   Good luck.

  4. CALL SOMEBODY and have them drive you and your cat to the veterinarian.   It's cruel to not get her the care she needs.

  5. You must take her to the vet or she will die. She's in great pain, please take her.

  6. Well gee, common sense would tell you that she needs professional care ASAP. So call a friend/relative/taxi and get her to the vet, unless you want to bury her soon.

  7. call a cab maybe even call the vet and see if someone can come and pick you and your cat up, or find someone who can drive you.

denying an animal medical attention that they need IS ABUSE

  8. your cat sound like she has the same problem as mine, she had a cold and a tumor.she was like yours not eating, not moving, was dehydrated and monday she died after i got home from taking her the vets.

  9. Get her to the vet immediately, find a friend, call someone! Don't let her suffer.

  10. Aw im sorry to here about your, cat - cant you take it to the vets in a taxi, and say its an emergency, in a cat carrier....this is really serious i hope your cat is okay!!! xxxxx
