He meows and follows me around for attention. And comes up close to me to purr. Then if I go up to pet him he will run away. Then he comes back and begs for attention again. Do you know what is wrong with him or how we can fix it? Thank you!

I am wondering if he was traumatized at the vet or maybe when he was outside someone frightened him. He has just started doing this recently. He is a bengal.

  1. i don't know where u live maybe its the heat

  2. he's probably just afraid you are going to be separated again, give him a while to settle back in even try sitting down when he cries so he's convinced you're stopping around.

  3. He may have a bipolar disorder.

  4. He sounds as though he is anxious for affection, but hand shy.

This is usually caused when he has been hurt, or frightened by someone.

The cure is very patient teaching that hands are OK.  Hand feed him small favourite treats, such as chiocken or prawns. Never bring your hand down from above, behind or from the side - hold your hand out palm up in front of him, let him sniff fingers, use just one finger to stoke his cheek. Then stop. Repeat and repeat and repeat.

    He will come around slowly.

  5. sometimes this can be a way of playing for both cats and dogs, another possibility is if he done something bad and you spanked him its possible if could be frightened of the motion of your hand when you bend down to pet him.

  6. its more likely to be in heat.

  7. I can think of 2 reasons:

    1. He's playing with you and thinks it's funny.  They do have peculiar humour and I wouldn't put it past them!

    2. He wants you to follow him somewhere... food maybe?

Try following him next time and see where he goes to.

  8. My cat went weird after we took her to the vet..

She didn't look at us for about a week.

but after she got over it she was back to normal..

I'm guessing just let him be, until he falls back into his normal ways..

(i know its hard to ignore them because they're always there and they're so adorable.. but try!)

    hope that helps?

    good luck!

  9. IT'S A CAT!! They are odd, and if he can sucker you up, he will. Ours is the same, spoilt little demonic buggers lol.
