  1. She'll be fine, just do not feed her after midnight and only let her have water. Easier said than done I know but it is her own good. You must also stay calm so that she does not get nervous herself. Good luck!!

  2. Don't worry! This type of operation is a little bit harder for females than males, so the days after she will be aching and tired, just leave her alone and let her sleep... you can find also specific food to help her to heal faster (the line a/d of hill's, but there is also Purina)... the most important thing is not stressing her, don't keep on awake her and touch her, try to image how would you feel after an operation like that!

  3. Hi, she shall be fine i got my cat sprayed at about 9 months and after i got her home she was a little frazzled but she just slept and after a couple of days she was back to normal except with a shoven side - just watch she doesnt try and bite the stitches

    (:

  4. no worries, your cat will be the same as always after a few days

She might just be a little exhausted, just give her some space to relax, be gentile with her, and give her lots of love

  5. first of all when you pick her up ask for an elizabethan collar for during the night and when you arent home so she doesnt bother the stitches she can have it removed when under supervision I say this because during the night when I brought my cat home she chewed through her stitches and had to be put under again the next day to be re-stitched...I would find a nice quiet place for your cat such as a closet or bathroom with a litter pan, a bed or blanket she can rest on and a food and water dish (just a small amount for the first night) the next day she can eat as much as she pleases and she will be fine and back to normal by the weekend but you must keep her activity to a minimum for 10-14 days

  6. If you have or can get a good size animal carrier you may want to leave her in there overnight with food, water, and a little litter box. She will be groggy and if you keep her confined you will not have fears that she will try jumping around and possibly opening up her incision. I did this for cats I needed to spay and it works very well.  You may keep the carrier near you so she isn't afraid and cover the front at night.

  7. your little cat will be just fine once you get her home,i found when my little Tigger was spayed she did not forget who took her to the vet in the first place and it took her a long time to forgive me

  8. If you are dropping her off in the morning, and picking her up after she has come out of the anesthesia, she will be groggy.  She may not even be able to walk, but will insist on doing so and drag herself around.  Or she may be a bit more alert, and will simply go off and find a quiet spot to sleep.  Letting her be is the best approach.

The vet should give you an instruction sheet and it will probably tell you to keep her off furniture and from climbing stairs.  Have a good laugh over that, as that is impossible.  Cats self regulate.

She will probably l**k the incision area, but unless she tries to pull out the stitches, there are no concerns.  Keep an eye on the incision area as it should not ooze or weep.  If so, call your vet.  Most vets include all necessary follow up care with the cost of the spay.  So if you have any immediate concerns, just call your vet.

Usually, they are almost back to normal the next morning, but some take a couple of days.  Two of my kittens were gut kicking each other as they wrestled within days of being spayed.

Spaying is what a responsible pet owner does, and we all worry when they undergo anything.
