My cat is bleeding a tiny bit after having kittens 4 days ago?

I was holding her, and she left a drop of blood behind on my arm. She is acting normally, feeding the kittens every 2 hours. Is this cause for alarm?

  1. Nothing is wrong, this is normal.

Any cat does this after giving birth. She is just healing.

    Eventually it will go away

  2. completely normal, all a part of giving birth.

  3. Very normal. How long does a woman bleed after giving birth, 6 weeks.

  4. you need to tell a vet but i have my cat she did not do that and was her first time ask just in case

  5. my cat did the same thing for at least 2 weeks!

    dont worry and congrats!

  6. nope.. i had a baby and bled for 6 weeks, i think its part of the healing process- sorry if tmi

  7. If it's just a little bit - and it doesn't continue for more than a week she's ok.  If it's medium-to-heavy, then no, it is NOT normal - the blood vessels are not clotting as they are supposed to.  Call your vet and inform him/her what is happening so they can monitor the situation.  BTW, most women do not bleed after birth for 6 weeks unless they had a tear during the birthing process - blood is supposed to clot pretty quickly (believe me, I had 163 stitches and never bleed after the fourth day).  Good luck with the new kittens, and please, as soon as you can, spay the momma too (she'll live a longer healthier life).

  8. it's normal

  9. No it isn't i would though take her to the vet for a check up. Some cats will have a period right after giving birth just like a female human will. It is all natural no cause for an alarm, just take her to the vet and have her checked. Be thankful that she has the ability to feed the kittens, i had a female cat that had kittens and right after she did, she was soo exhausted after having 3 just 3, she did not want anything to do with them, soo i ended up having to feed them, a kitten being born is a beautiful thing to behold.

  10. hola

  11. take her to the vet. I think its normal that she feeds every 2 hours. but i m not sure about the bleeding
