Question:

My cat is bleeding in his urine?

My cat is bleeding in his urine, about one month ago he was hemorrhaging (sp?) from his nose and in his urine.

We took him to the vet they said he was poisoned with rat poisoned and gave us vitamin K. It stopped so we figured that was the problem. We now think there is something else wrong, we still have some extra Vitamin K so we gave him that.

We spent a big fortune last time and havent fully recovered. Does anyone know what it could be, could vitamin K just be the answer?

Thankyou in advance.

  1. has he been outside again, recently?

  2. I am really sorry your kitty is sick but you must call his vet right away.  They may ok the Vit K but change your dosage.  Explain your money situation.  Do not take a chance and wait.

    Good Luck.

  3. How long did your vet say to give the Vitamin K? It SHOULD NOT be stopped just because you don't see blood any more. You have to give the vitamin K for as long as the vet tells you to. Rat poison (coumadin) takes at least 2-3 months to treat with Vitamin K. If you are seeing blood again, you need to get the cat back to the vet and tell the vet that you stopped giving the Vitamin K. Your cat is in danger of dying. Get it back to the vet - NOW.

  4. if you are positive that he has not gotten in to poison again, then he could have something else completely different now. male cats are prone to urinary tract infections and if left untreated, can cause a rapid onset death. Take your cat the the vet ASAP. when cats become blocked they have usually 2 days before they die as they get uremic poisoning or their bladders rupture. The first signs that people notice are litter box avoidance behavior (peeing where he shouldn't), excessive l*****g of the genitals, straining to urinate, urinating blood or having blood in the urine. Take the cat to the vet now, in the cat world this is considered an emergency as cats can go from a mild UTI, to being completely blocked, very very quickly.

at any rate, we can not diagnose your pet over the Internet. any time there is bleeding from the p***s there is cause to go to your vet right away. yes, explain to your vet about the finances and arrange a payment plan with them if necessary

see, prime example of why you need to take the cat to the vet right away- you did not mention before that he had a bloody nose last night. the cat really needs to see a vet
