My cat...well...kitten is about 5 months old and he peed on my bed while my husband was petting him. We also found that he peed on the bed in the guest bedroom. The only other time he peed on anything was on my sweater once a long time ago, also in front of me. It is only us 2 in the house and we have a girl kitten the same age that he has been with since before we adopted them. We always give him attention and never leave them alone in the house for more than 24 hours which is very rare. What do you think could be wrong with him, and do you think this will keep happening? Please help! If this continues we are not going to be able to keep him. :(

  1. There are many explanations for why your cat is doing this.

A: It is his way of telling you something upsets him i.e. he wants more attention

B: He is leaving his mark to attract female cats which can easily be solved by getting neutered

C: He does understand the idea of the liter box- Many infant cats do not understand the purpose of the liter box; he may not know where it is locaed or how to use it

  2. ewww..........its bound to happen, you need to train it though everyhour to go in the litter box

  3. How old was he when he got neutered? Sometimes if they are to young it causes these types of problems. It really isn't that good of an idea to neuter under 5 or 6 months. Most vets where i live won't do it under that age

  4. Litter box problems are sometimes a sign of illness.  So a check up with the vet is the first placed to start.

Both of your kittens are old enough to be neutured and spayed.  This will help will a kitten who is having litter box problems.

Litter box problems are very frustrating for all.....human and feline.  Here's a link that you might find helpful:

    Good Luck!

  5. he could be practicing marking...or maybe he could be like my male cat... he is neutered but if there is pee or poo in the litter box he might no use it and use my bed instead...might be his way of telling you he wants you to clean the can box...if hes not using it at all and youve tried to train him too use it the best way is to put him and a litter pan in a good sized box...he will get the idea

  6. If he peed while being petted then it might just be exitement or pleasure.

Make sure to wash all bedding so the scent is not on it any more.

Alcohol also works to get rid of the scent completely.

Make sure the litter box is completely clean.

The cat may not like the type of litter you are using so put out two boxes and see which one it uses.

    good luck

P.S. You may also have done this but MAKE SURE to have the cat spayed / neutered so it won't start marking your house.

    good luck
