my 15 month old cat started to have seizures 2 days ago, I took her to the vet .they kept her for the day..did blood work,,everything was normal except for a high sodium level,,the vet gave her phenobarbitol and let us take her home..within minutes of getting her in the car she had 2 more seizures.Since then she has had about 15 more seizures..i called the vet..and she told me to give her her dose of pheno right away(she is supposed to have 1/2 every 12 hours)..She is still having seizures..and they seem to be getting worse..lasting longer and she is crying out during them,,at first they were very mild....here is my question..one vet thinks she may be epileptic,,the other vet says no,,that they seizures dont happen that way..that they come on gradual.she thinks the cat has been poisioned..When she was in the hospital they administered fluid in her..and also put some charcoal in her belly...Has anyone ever had a cat who was poisioned and acted this way..Or.do you have a cat who is epileptic and this sounds normal.. she is an outdoors cat who may have ate a rodent. Also we just got a salt water system pool and the cat was drinking some of the water ..i asked the vet if this would elevate her sodium levels and she said yes..but she is not sure if drinking the water is the problem...If you have any answers please let me know..thank you
